Verify I-9 LLC, an authorized Designated Agent for employers required to verify new hires through the Federal E-Verify System, has been invited by the US Department of Homeland Security to help make the E-Verify system more efficient for Designated agents and the clients they represent. Verify I-9 LLC’s involvement in the “Designated Agent Re-engineering” project begins in February and will continue until August 2009.

Verify I-9 LLC has been asked to document and analyze the existing Designated Agent program and recommend improvements for the Web interface, policies and procedures, training, and other aspects of the E-Verify program.

E-Verify (formerly known as the Basic Pilot/Employment Eligibility Verification Program) is an Internet based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration (SSA) that allows participating employers to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their newly hired employees.

Verify I-9, LLC has been a Designated Agent of the E-Verify program since 2007. The Loganville-based firm provides employers across the nation with an extra degree of assurance that their labor force is eligible to work in the U.S. In addition, Verify I-9, LLC’s services comply with new state laws and local ordinances that require employment eligibility verification to qualify for public contracts or to maintain business licensing.
